A veteran of financial technology, Mathias led E*TRADE's international division for over ten years. This included launching and growing licensed businesses across 14 markets in Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Prior to E*TRADE, Mathias held leadership positions at TIR Securities (co-founder) and Bank Paribas Capital Markets.

Dr. Lucas Hui

Senior Director, Security and Data Sciences

Dr Lucas Hui has been appointed as Senior Director, Security and Data Sciences (SNDS), since February 2018.  He is responsible for developing strategic plans for the technology division which focuses on cybersecurity, blockchain technology, and big data analytics; building and leading R&D teams, as well as engaging customers and collaborators from both the industry and the Government.

Dr Hui’s research interests include information security, authentication services, network security, cryptography, and electronic commerce.  Before joining ASTRI, he was the founder and Honorary Director of the Centre for Information Security and Cryptography, and concurrently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science in the The University of Hong Kong.  Dr Hui received his BSc and MPhil degrees in Computer Science from The University of Hong Kong, and his MSc and PhD degrees in computer science from the University of California, Davis.  Besides actively publishing research papers, he has strong experience in consultation work in security systems, and in industrial collaboration projects.

Priscilla Ng is the Head of Customer Franchise and Head of Digital Banking for Citibank Hong Kong. In this role, she oversees Marketing, Digital Banking, Client Experience and Decision Management functions for the bank. Priscilla is responsible for managing all these functions in order to grow the franchise by developing customer management strategy for different customer segments and creating the best-in-class client experience at different touch points and channels based on clients’ needs. 


Prior to her current position, she was the Head of Customer Segment and Mortgage responsible for the management and formulation of client centric proposition for the bank’s retail customer segments in Hong Kong. The whole client spectrum covers the high-net-worth individual, affluent, emerging affluent, international personal banking and SME segments. She was also responsible for the development and growth of the bank’s mortgage business. 


Priscilla joined Citibank in 2001 and since then has held various positions in the bank. Priscilla was appointed Country Marketing Director in 2011, responsible for the bank’s overall marketing and branding strategies, as well as the marketing and business development of all consumer banking segments, leading the expansion of Citibank’s retail presence in Hong Kong, and revamping the value proposition of the bank’s offerings.


Priscilla graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science, majoring in Economics.

Fuller Yu

Fuller has over 18 years of experience in technology risk management and cyber security for financial service industry across Asian countries. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Fuller was the Head of Technology Risk Management and Cyber Security functions of AIA Group and managed the enterprise IT Risk program of JPMorgan. He received his MBA and Master in Information Systems Management from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is also a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Dr. Toa Charm

Dr Toa Charm, DBA MA, BSc, MHKCS, CBIP, joined Cyberport Hong Kong as the Chief Public Mission Officer in June 2016. As the CPMO of Cyberport, Dr Charm reports to the CEO of Cyberport and serves as a strategic partner in developing strategies and related initiatives to deliver Cyberport’s public mission.

With more than 25 years of leadership and extensive experience in FinTech, big data, business intelligence, and enterprise solutions, Dr Charm brings with him a wealth of experience from private consultancy, public administration, and academic sectors. He has built strong connections with the tech industry and served on a number of advisory boards of universities, start-up communities, NGOs, and other trade organisations including Hong Kong Computer Society, Tung Wah Hospital Group, City University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He is the EXCO member and Vice President (Innovation and Technology Application) of Hong Kong Computer Society, Founder and Chairperson of Business Intelligence and Big Data, and Founder and Chairperson of FinTech SIG of Hong Kong Computer Society. Dr Charm also served at widely-recognised tech industry players, such as being the associate partner of IBM Global Business Services Greater China, general manager of Oracle, general manager of Kingdee, and regional head of BI Competence Centre for HSBC Asia Pacific.

Dr Charm holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from the City University of Hong Kong, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Minnesota State University.

With the rapid adoption of Darktrace’s multi-award-winning Enterprise Immune System technology, Cat has been instrumental in laying the foundations for the company’s rapid growth for Hong Kong. Cat has over 10 years of experience in the enterprise software industry, focusing on strategic sales and business development in both the Hong Kong and Taiwan regions. She has held senior roles at Master Concept, Automated Systems and EMC. Cat has a bachelor degree in Software Engineering from Queensland University of Technology.

Dr. Paul Sin

Paul has 20 years of IT management and consulting experience focusing in financial services sector, currently leading the FinTech practice and Asia Pacific Blockchain Lab in Deloitte.  Prior to Deloitte, Paul served as CEO of Fintech, CIO for bank, brokerage firm, and global conglomerate, as well as practice leader for EY, PwC, and IBM, specialized in emerging technologies and advanced analytics.

David Holmes

F5 Security Evangelist

Based in Seattle, David Holmes is the Principal Threat Research Evangelist for F5 Networks.  In this role, Holmes is spokesman, researcher and evangelist for F5’s threat intelligence division, with an emphasis on distributed denial of service attacks, cryptography and firewall technology. He speaks at conferences such as RSA, InfoSec and Gartner Data Center.

Holmes authors white papers on security topics from the modern DDoS threat spectrum to new paradigms of firewall management. He has a regular column at SecurityWeek Magazine and contributes to the industry publications DarkReading, Wired Online, SCMagazine, and Network World.

Since joining F5 in 2001, Holmes has helped design system and core security features of F5's Traffic Management Operating System (TMOS) with four patents pending.

Prior to joining F5, Holmes served as Vice President of Engineering at Dvorak Development. Holmes has over 25 years of experience in security and product engineering and has contributed to security-related open source software projects such as OpenSSL and ssldump.

Minhaj Syed

With his current role, Minhaj is responsible in strategic development of integrated technology and cyber risk management practices across all FWD businesses which are in Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and Japan. Minhaj plays a key role in translating relevant strategic, operational and emerging technology risks into meaningful facts to facilitate senior management’s decision making process.

Minhaj possess over 20 years of experience and prior to join FWD, Minhaj was associated with consulting industry and provided consultancy services in the area of technology risk management, technology audits, incident response, crisis management and forensic investigations to various industries in a number of countries.

Martin Eber

As Asia Pacific Head of Business Information Risk for HSBC Global Banking & Markets, Martin is responsible for the day to day first line Information Risk management of businesses and functions in 19 countries across Asia Pacific, focusing primarily on the Human (or “people and process”) side of information security. Martin is responsible for the cyber security awareness and training program within Global Banking & Markets, and through his team, acts as a liaison between Information Security, Risk, and front-line staff in the investment bank.

Overseeing a network of over 300 divisional Business Information Risk Officers, Martin works directly with business and function staff to promote a culture of information risk awareness, whilst ensuring a pragmatic approach to the maintenance of a robust control environment.

Wendy Wang

Wendy Wang is Chief Information Officer (CIO) of HSBC Commercial Banking since 2015, also Chief Information Officer of The Hongkongand Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited since June 2017.
 

She has recently relocated from London to Hong Kong, the significant technology location for HSBC, as well as one of the two home markets for the Bank.


In addition to taking the roles of CIO for Commercial Banking and Asia Pacific, she is also a member of the HSBC Commercial Banking, Group Technology, and Asia-Pacific Chief Operation Officer executive committees.


Ms Wang joined HSBC in 2005. Starting in New York, she led Structured Credit IT globally along with Derivatives IT regionally. In 2009, she took up the role as Head of Global Banking and Markets IT, Asia-Pacific.
 

Ms Wang is a 26-year financial services technology veteran working for financial institutions on Wall Street, including Bankers Trust, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank.
 

She was born in China, educated in New York, and has worked in United States, Hong Kong, and United Kingdom.

Tim Fung

Manuel San Miguel is Vice President, Chief of Technology, Architecture, and Digital Engineering for Manulife in Asia. He is responsible for the overall Digital development, delivery and engineering practices, as well as the architecture, technology, and application strategy for Manulife across the Asian territories.

 

Manuel is also leading the efforts around business transformation through emerging technology, with a focus on machine learning and AI as well as the application of blockchain technology to solve concrete business problems.

 

Before joining Manulife in November 2006, Manuel worked as a consultant for Japan-based IT support organizations of multinational corporations, focusing on development of virtual teams, and helping organizations leverage global resources to provide best value of technology services to their internal and external clients.

 

Manuel was born and raised in San Juan, PR, and has lived and worked in Boston and San Diego before moving to Asia in early 2004, where he was based in Tokyo, Japan before moving to Hong Kong in June of 2014. In his free time he is active in Japanese martial arts.

Jeff Galvin

Jeff Galvin is a Partner in McKinsey’s Hong Kong office and leader of the Firm’s venture capital and fintech ecosystem work in Asia. His clients include leading banks, insurers, and principal investors, and his project work covers areas such as investment strategy and execution, digital banking and payments, AI / advanced analytics, and digital marketing. Jeff rejoined McKinsey in 2016, but also previously spent over 10 years at the Firm in Shanghai, Taipei, Chicago, and New York. 

 

Prior to rejoining McKinsey, Jeff spent 5 years at Google from 2011-2016 where, most recently, he served as Director of the Online Partnerships Group (OPG) for Asia Pacific, based in Tokyo and responsible for managing OPG's network of online publishers and mobile application developers on Google’s AdMob, AdSense, and DoubleClick for Publishers across the region.     

 

Jeff holds an MBA, with distinction, from Harvard University and a BA, with highest distinction, from Princeton University, where he also was on the Varsity men’s rowing team.

Prior joining NTT Security, Luke served as Information Risk and Third Party Risk Manager in one of the largest investment banks in the world with Asia Pacific coverage. Peter was born and raised in UK. He graduated from University of Sussex with bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering. Peter worked in Demark and Japan with small software companies prior joining HSBC.
