Ir. Allen Yeung

Government Chief Information Officer
The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

Ir Allen Yeung has extensive experience in the ICT field.  He held BSEE from the University of Texas at Austin, MSEE from Purdue University and Executive MBA from HKUST-Kellogg Northwestern University. 

As GCIO, his responsibilities include formulating ICT policies and strategies; leading the E-government programmes; promoting and developing ICT industry as key business and economy driver; and bridging the digital divide.

Prior to joining the Government in July 2015, Ir Yeung was the Chief Corporate Development Officer of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.  Ir Yeung started his career in 1987 in the Silicon Valley, working for many hi-tech companies.  In 1995, he relocated to Hong Kong to further his career development, and served in several senior management positions for multinational enterprises and Hong Kong listed companies.

Ir Yeung has contributed significantly in promoting and developing the innovation and technology industry in Hong Kong and the region.  He has served on many councils and advisory committees in the ICT industry associations, business angel networks, engineer professional bodies, as well as educational institutions.

Carolyn is an experienced technology and communications lawyer, with a particular focus on data protection, data retention and data security law across the Asia Pacific region. Carolyn regularly advises businesses on the best practice approach to regional and international data privacy compliance, as well as co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional data privacy projects. 

 

She also advises on all forms of technology and communications contracts, and has significant experience in complex outsourcing projects, systems supply and integration agreements, cloud arrangements and e-commerce platforms, acting for both users and suppliers in the technology,
telecommunications, banking, insurance and other sectors, as well as on related regulatory issues.
She has industry and in-house experience from client secondments to an international telecoms

Geoff McClelland

Geoff has over 25 years of experience in Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T), having held senior roles or consulting extensively across a number of industry sectors - notably in Telecommunications, Petroleum, IT, Finance, Defence, Retail and Hospitality. Always having a strong technology focus, Geoff has held traditional IT&T staff roles as well as broader R&D, strategic marketing and corporate planning positions.

His career has taken him from Australia, to the UK, the USA and several locations in Asia. Today he is a well-respected technology advisor to several of Asia’s largest companies, especially in the areas of IT strategy, security and governance. He continues, as he has since 1997, to work extensively with the Jardine Matheson Group, one of world’s oldest and largest diversified business groups with some 400,000 colleagues, principally in Asia.

Geoff is an Australian, married with two adult children and lives in Hong Kong. He holds a MBA with a Finance major from the University of Technology, Sydney and is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers [MIEEE], a Senior Member of the Australian Computer Society [MACS(Snr)] and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors [FAICD].

Ageas Insurance Company (Asia) Limited is one of Hong Kong's largest life insurance companies. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of JD Capital. Headquartered in Beijing, JD Capital has offices across China, North America, and Asia and operates a variety of financial services businesses.

Henk has been active in the Insurance industry for over 25 years with a continuous focus on business/ICT alignment. He has a vast interest in IT Innovation and has been leading initiatives that involve implementation of digital, mobile and cloud initiatives.

Originally a commercial pilot, Steve has held a number of senior corporate and banking roles in product, marketing, operations and general management. He has worked for a number of leading corporations and financial institutions including Dell, Compaq, Citigroup, OCBC, Shinsei and DBS Bank. Throughout his career, Steve has specialized in introducing new business models, businesses and products in all major markets in Asia and has filed six patents.

Steve is a frequent presenter and lecturer around the world on subjects including innovation, banking, Working Capital, M&A and Investing in China. He co-authored a five-year China IPO study and has been frequently published on topics including working capital, investing in China and capital collaboration.

Alison Dack

Alison Dack leads the Information Technology group for FedEx in Asia Pacific providing technology infrastructure and complex information flows to meet the business goals of the world’s largest express transportation company.

 

Her team of 400 staff across 13 countries designs and manages technology strategy planning, software engineering, voice and data network management, data center and information security services and field support for all business and operational IT solutions. 

 

Ms Dack has over 30 years experience leading technology operations and initiatives across various industry sectors. Prior to joining FedEx in 2006, she was Vice President, Group IT Strategy and Architecture at a telecommunications service provider where she was responsible for Information Systems strategies.  She also led the development of major programs and managed projects for businesses in the telecommunications and public sectors. Subsequently she was Consultant Programme Manager for a multinational media and entertainment company, where she led the implementation of the 20+ critical business solutions and other technologies critical to the operation of a multi-billion USD start-up business.

Shane Read

Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Shane Read is the CISO for Noble Resources Limited based in Hong Kong.  Prior to this he has been with the Australian Federal Government for the past 15 years, predominantly within the Department of Defense undertaking the role of their Information Systems Security Officer.  His passion in the industry is broad, and while now he favors building the Boardroom’s understand of InfoSec delivering the overall program, his real excitement is playing with new and emerging technologies.  He feels the key to InfoSec is in understanding your data, the protections you can employ on that data (CIA&NR) and being able to continue build your cyber maturity.  “If you don’t understand your own networks and external connections you are not placing yourself well to understand an attack”

Anna Gamvros

Anna Gamvros is a technology and innovation partner based in Hong Kong. 

Anna is co-author to Internet Law in Hong Kong published by Sweet & Maxwell and is recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers Asia as a leading individual for her expertise in the area of technology and data protection, in particular for her "extensive IT transactional work" and experience across a number of industries, notably with retail and luxury brands.

Anna's practice focuses primarily on technology and communications related issues. She advises clients on licensing and technology agreements, outsourcing, privacy and data protection, and telecommunications and Internet regulatory issues. She has assisted clients with Hong Kong and China based projects and well as having a wealth of experience in multi-jurisdictional projects, particularly in implementing e-commerce and data management projects in Asia.

Tim Archer

Tim Archer is a Security Architect for Cathay Pacific based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Cathay Pacific Tim held numerous consulting roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers in cyber security and computer forensics, and a security engineering role with CSC. Tim has worked across numerous locations including Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Bangalore, and in numerous industries including transport and logistics, banking and finance, mining, oil and gas, government, telecommunications and manufacturing. Tim believes in taking a common sense and pragmatic approach to security architecture, which includes educating the business on cyber risk, tackling cyber risk as a business issue and not just an IT issue, and balancing positive and negative risk.

 

Tim holds a Bachelor’s Degree in IT from Swinburne University, a Certificate III in Investigative Services and qualifications in SABSA, ITIL and GIAC GSEC.

Prior to AWS, Zane founded a Big Data Analytics and Visualization startup called TreeCrunch and also spent over a decade at smartphone maker BlackBerry where he held leadership positions in Canada, Australia and Hong Kong, most recently as their Regional Director for Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea. He has a BA (Hons) in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MBA (Distinction) from the University of Hong Kong.

Paul Crighton

Joining BlackBerry through the 2015 acquisition of Good Technology, Paul was previously Head of APAC Sales at PGi, where he led an Enterprise Sales Team of 70 people. He has also held senior leadership positions at Symantec and Intel Security as a Sales Director, responsible for managing the go-to market strategy as well as the sales force.

Nigel Lee

Nigel Lee is the Senior Director of Systems Engineering, APAC at NetApp. He
leads the technical presales team across Asia Pacific. As part of the Asia
Pacific Executive team, Nigel sets and executes against sales strategies in
the customer and partner ecosystem. The systems engineering team
architects solutions that help customers transform from traditional IT
infrastructures to solutions that accelerates and creates business
opportunities. Nigel also oversees the Asia Pacific Office of CTO which is the
think tank that evangelizes IT futures.


Nigel has held leadership roles at NetApp since 2003 and has been employed
at NetApp since 2001 in various technical engineering roles.

Gregor Theisen
